"Clarence and Billy coming to speak to us in class was really eye-opening. It was very fascinating to hear firsthand accounts/stories about their upbringing, their time inside, and their success stories. I think the work you do with incarcerated individuals is great and I hope one day I could do the same. You can tell how human they feel when speaking about their experiences in programming and now on the outside. I can’t imagine how brutal the first few years were for them given that they didn’t really want to try to better themselves. It was nice to hear about how programs and other forms of rehabilitation have helped them turn themselves and their lives around so they can be the best versions of themselves now that they are out. Their stories show that hard work does pay off and that it is beyond worth it to invest in yourself for both yourself and family and friends. I wish more people could hear them speak about their stories and their effort because it’s very inspiring. I’ve been telling a lot of people I know about these two lectures."
